1957 Bentley S I by Joel Foreman, Georgia, USA

B582EG was acquired as the result of totaling my previous 1958 S1, (B107FD), by hitting the one and only deer I have ever hit in my life in late 2000. Prior to my ownership, B582EG had been given a very extensive restoration in 1980 and was voted 'Best in Class' at the 1982 Annual Hershey event in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As best can be ascertained, I believe the car was used, almost exclusively, as a 'show' car until my acquisition in mid-2001. 'Showing' cars is not my passion. Driving cars is what I enjoy.

As a result of my driving, several upgrades became necessary over the past five years: engine was overhauled, in two stages, block then head; transmission replaced when block was reworked; shocks/springs replaced and re-arced; and, finally, new interior (headliner, carpet, leather, wood refinish). As expected, she drives/rides almost as if new!

I drive her all over the country; e.g., to Florida (1200 miles round-trip) several times a year; to various RROC Rebel Region events annually; and, this past summer, to the RROC National Meet in Greenwich, Connecticut (2200 miles round-trip) where she took 1st Place, Touring Class, S-Series. (I must confess that the PMC Covers front-end cover does allow a certain peace of mind in my travels.)
